Hirakud Dam to Open 8 More Gates as Rising Water Level Pushes Up Inflow

ବଢୁଛି ହୀରାକୁଦ ଡ୍ୟାମର ଜଳସ୍ତର। ଏବେ ହୀରାକୁଦ ଜଳଭଣ୍ଡାରର ୧୪ଟି ଗେଟ୍ ଦେଇ ବନ୍ୟା ଜଳ ନିଷ୍କାସନ ହେଇଛି । ସଂଧ୍ୟା ସୁଦ୍ଧା ଖୋଲିବ ଆଉ ୮ଟି ଗେଟ୍ । ମୋଟ୍ ୨୨ ଗେଟ୍ ଦେଇ ହେବ ଜଳ ନିଷ୍କାସନ । ହୀରାକୁଦକୁ ଇନଫ୍ଲୋ ବଢୁଥିବାରୁ ଅଧିକ ଗେଟ୍ ଖୋଲିବ। ଏନେଇ ସୂଚନା ଦେଇଛନ୍ତି ଜଳ ସମ୍ପଦ ସର୍ବୋଚ୍ଚ ଯନ୍ତ୍ରୀ ଦିଲ୍ଲୀପ ରାଉତ।

The water level in the Hirakud Dam reservoir is continuing to rise, prompting authorities to open eight more gates by this evening. At present, floodwater is being discharged through 14 gates, and the total number of operational gates will increase to 22. According to Chief Engineer of the Water Resources Department, Dillip Raut, the decision has been taken due to the increasing inflow into the Hirakud Reservoir, which requires additional floodwater discharge to manage the rising water level.
