ଫୁଲୁଛି ମହାନଦୀ, ଉଛୁଳୁଛି ଶାଖାନଦୀ। ଘେରାବନ୍ଦୀ ଗାଁ, ଜଳବନ୍ଦୀର ଭୟ। ଆଉ ଚିନ୍ତାରେ ଦିନ କାଟୁଛନ୍ତି ନଦୀକୂଳିଆ ଲୋକେ। ଛତିଶଗଡ଼ରେ ପ୍ରବଳ ବର୍ଷା ଯୋଗୁଁ ହୀରକୁଦ ଡ୍ୟାମର ୨୨ଟି ଗେଟ୍ ଖୋଲିବା ପରେ ଏପଟେ ମହାନଦୀ ଅବବାହିକାରେ ଥିବା ଲୋକଙ୍କ ଭିତରେ ବଢ଼ିଛି ଛାନିଆ। ହୀରାକୁଦ ଡ୍ୟାମ ଖୋଲିବା ପରେ ବୌଦ୍ଧ ହରଭଙ୍ଗା ବ୍ଲକରେ ମହାନଦୀ ୮୬.୩୫ ମିଟରରେ ପ୍ରାବାହିତ ହେଉଥିବା ବେଳେ ବିପଦ ସଙ୍କେତ ସ୍ତର ରହିଛି ୮୭.୮୦ ମିଟର। ମୁଣ୍ଡଳିରେ ୮ଲକ୍ଷ ୮୦ ହଜାର ୫୯୧ କ୍ୟୁସେକ୍ ଜଳ ପ୍ରବାହିତ ହେଉଥିବା ବେଳେ ବିପଦ ସଙ୍କେତଠାରୁ ମାତ୍ର ଦେଢ଼ଫୁଟ ତଳେ ରହିଛି ପାଣି।
Flood concerns have intensified across the Mahanadi River basin after the Hirakud Dam opened 22 gates following heavy rainfall in Chhattisgarh. Residents living along the riverbanks are worried as water levels continue to rise. In Harabhanga Block of Boudh, the Mahanadi was flowing at 86.35 metres, against a danger level of 87.80 metres. At Mundali, the river discharge reached 8,80,591 cusecs, with the water level remaining just 1.5 feet below the danger mark, prompting authorities to keep a close watch on the situation.
