Today marks the first Monday of the holy month of Shravan, considered one of the most auspicious days for the worship of Lord Shiva. Thousands of Kanwariyas have gathered at famous Shaivite shrines across Odisha to offer holy water to Lord Shiva. Since early morning, devotees have been collecting water from various water bodies, including the Mahanadi River, before heading to temples for Jal Abhishek.
