A woman has allegedly died after receiving an injection at a private clinic in Jeypore, with her family accusing the doctor of administering the wrong medication. The deceased has been identified as Bhabani Mallik of Phampuni village.
According to family members, Bhabani was taken to a private clinic after she fell ill, where she was reportedly given an injection and prescribed medicines. They alleged that her condition worsened immediately after the injection and that she later became unconscious.
She was rushed to the District Headquarters Hospital, where doctors declared her dead. However, the doctor concerned has rejected the allegations, claiming that after prescribing medicines and an injection, the family sought treatment elsewhere and did not return to him. Police are yet to issue an official statement on the matter.
