Cuttack Gadagadia Ghat Opens for Kanwariyas Only Amid Strong Mahanadi Current Alert

ମହାନଦୀ ଘାଟ ବାଲିଯାତ୍ରା ତଳପଡିଆକୁ ସାଧାରଣ ଲୋକଙ୍କ ପ୍ରବେଶ ଉପରେ କଟକଣା ଲଗାଇଲା ପ୍ରଶାସନ। ଗଡଗଡିଆ ଘାଟରେ କେବଳ କାଉଡିଆଙ୍କୁ ଜଳ ଉଠାଇବାକୁ ଅନୁମତି ଦିଆଯାଇଛି। ମହାନଦୀରେ ପ୍ରବଳ ସ୍ରୋତ ଜାରି ରହିଥିବାରୁ ୪୮ଘଣ୍ଟାର ସତର୍କତା ଜାରି କରିଛି ଜିଲ୍ଲା ପ୍ରଶାସନ। ତେବେ ଶ୍ରାବଣ ସୋମବାର ପାଇଁ ଗଡଗଡ଼ିଆ ଘାଟରେ କାଉଡ଼ିଆଙ୍କ ଭିଡ ଲାଗିବାକୁ ଥିବାରୁ ସ୍ବତନ୍ତ୍ର ବ୍ୟାରିକେଡ କରାଯାଇ କାଉଡିଆଙ୍କୁ ଯିବାକୁ ଦିଆଯାଉଥିବା ବେଳେ ସାଧାରଣ ଲୋକଙ୍କୁ କିନ୍ତୁ ନଦୀକୂଳକୁ ଛଡା ଯାଉନାହିଁ। ନିର୍ଦ୍ଧାରିତ ଷ୍ଟିଲ ବ୍ୟାରିକେଡ ମଧ୍ୟରେ କାଉଡ଼ିଆ ଜଳ ଉଠାଉଛନ୍ତି।ବ୍ୟାରିକେଡର ଦୁଇଟି ଗେଟରେ ପୋଲିସ ମୃତୟନ ରହିଛନ୍ତି। ଏହାଛଡା ଅଗ୍ନିଶମ ଓ NDRF ଟିମ ନଦୀ କୂଳରେ ସଜାଗ ରହିଛନ୍ତି। ଗଡ଼ଗଡିଆ ଘାଟରୁ ଅଧିକ ସୂଚନା ଦେଉଛନ୍ତି ଆମ କଟକ ପ୍ରତିନିଧି ବିଶ୍ୱଜିତ ଆଚାର୍ଯ୍ୟ।

The Cuttack district administration has restricted public entry to the Mahanadi riverbank at Bali Jatra Tala Padia, allowing only Kanwariyas to collect holy water from Gadagadia Ghat. The decision comes as a precautionary measure due to strong currents in the Mahanadi River, with authorities issuing a 48-hour safety alert.

Ahead of the Shravan Somvar rush, special steel barricades have been installed at the ghat to regulate the movement of Kanwariyas. Devotees are being allowed to collect water only through designated barricaded areas, while general visitors are not being permitted near the riverbank.

Police personnel have been deployed at the barricade gates, while Fire Services and NDRF teams are stationed near the riverbank to handle any emergency situation. The administration has taken these steps to ensure the safety of devotees amid the rising water flow.
