A businessman was allegedly shot at in the Adar Bazar area under Sahadevkhunta Police Station limits in Balasore. CCTV footage reportedly shows eight rounds being fired during the attack. The injured businessman, who sustained critical injuries, has been shifted to the Balasore District Headquarters Hospital for treatment.
The incident has triggered panic in the locality. However, it is yet to be ascertained who carried out the firing and what led to the attack.
Police have launched an investigation into the incident, while further details regarding the assailants and motive are still awaited.
