A BPCL PNG (Piped Natural Gas) pipeline ruptured at Amalapada Canal Road in Angul on Tuesday evening, triggering a major gas leak and panic among local residents. According to the source, the incident occurred while underground work was being carried out by TPCODL, damaging the gas pipeline and causing a significant PNG leak. Fire Services, Town Police and the BPCL technical team rushed to the spot and launched efforts to contain the leak and ensure public safety. As a precautionary measure, PNG supply through the affected pipeline has been suspended. BPCL officials said repair work is underway and gas supply is expected to be restored soon after the pipeline is fixed.
