A decade has passed since the tragic police firing at Gumudumaha village in Kandhamal district claimed five lives, but the pain remains fresh for the families of the victims. On the dark night of July 8, 2016, members of the Digal family along with women and children from the village were returning home in an autorickshaw when bullets suddenly rang out from the darkness. The incident left five people dead and several others injured, turning the night into one of the darkest chapters in Odisha's recent history. Even after 3,650 days have passed, the grief of the bereaved families continues, with memories of the tragedy still etched deeply in their hearts.
